Moisture absorber refill is something we are very familiar with in our daily life. In order to reduce the moisture content in the packaging and prevent corrosion, food will also use desiccant, and clothing and other aspects also need to use desiccant.

There are two water removal methods for moisture absorber refill, one is chemical adsorption and the other is physical adsorption. Chemisorption is a chemical reaction between water in the air and a desiccant to form hydrates. Physical adsorption, such as silica gel, directly absorbs the water content in the air by physical means.
1. Quicklime moisture absorber refill: The main component is calcium oxide, and its water absorption capacity is achieved through chemical reactions, so water absorption is irreversible. Regardless of the humidity of the external environment, it can maintain a hygroscopic capacity greater than 35% of its own weight. Can be widely used in food, clothing, tea, leather, shoes, electrical appliances and other industries. This type of desiccant is currently most commonly used in "snow cakes".
However, the quicklime moisture absorber refill has been gradually eliminated due to its strong alkali corrosiveness, which often damages the eyes of children or the elderly.
2. Calcium chloride moisture absorber refill: The main raw material is calcium chloride, which is made of high-quality calcium carbonate and hydrochloric acid as raw materials, and is refined through reaction synthesis, filtration, evaporation concentration, drying and other processes. White porous block, granular or honeycomb solid. Slightly bitter, odorless. The aqueous solution is colorless.
Calcium chloride moisture absorber refill is mainly used as a raw material for the production of various other calcium salts in inorganic chemical industry; it is also used as a desiccant for gas and a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylic resins. In the food industry, it is used as calcium fortifier, curing agent, chelating agent, desiccant, etc.
